    Presenter Name and Bio:

Jennifer Hain, Career Ready Central PA Facilitator

After earning my Bachelor’s Degree in Vocational Industrial Education from Penn State University, I entered the teaching field in the area of Cosmetology to give back to the community and share my passion for helping youth find professional success. I held this position for 19 years at Columbia Montour AVTS in Bloomsburg. After earning my Master’s Degree from Penn State University in Workforce Education I continued to share my passion for Career and Technical Education by entering administration as the Director of Student Services at Columbia Montour AVTS. In an effort to impart change in career and technical education, in 2014 I took the position of Administrative Director at SUN Area Technical Institute. During my tenure my passion continues to focus on building career awareness in our community, working with youth to develop their talents, mentor and strengthen our teachers, build partnerships that bring business and education together to strengthen our community economics, and advocate on a state level for career and technical education.

In September of 2022 I retired from my position as the Administrative Director of SUN Tech and public education to spend more time caring for my family. While I am not one to sit idle, I sought funding to move Central PA Career Ready Partnership to the next level, continue the work started by the group in 2017, and provide a soft hand-off to the next generation of leadership. With the support and funding from the Degenstein Foundation and Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit, I launched Career Ready Central PA, a collaboration of community organizations, business and industry partners, education partners, chambers of commerce, and Advance Central PA to create a workforce pipeline for students k-12 in local jobs across a nine county region. Our community has so much to offer and benefit from by joining hands and working in tandem at the same goal, a healthy and economically strong community.

During my 31 years in education, I have given back to Career and Technical Education, Penn State University, my alma mater Columbia Montour AVTS, SUN Area Technical Institute, and the Central Susquehanna Valley through my investment in various committees, boards, state associations, local organizations, and the inception of Career Ready Central PA .

Thanks to my Cosmetology instructor, I can honest say the I have been blessed to spend the last 31 years living the dream everyday by helping others understand the impact of Career and Technical Education. I am forever grateful to her leadership. When I am not pursuing this passion, you can find me camping, fishing, riding motorcycle, and enjoying the outdoors.
