Regional Director, National Labor Relations Board 

DESCRIPTION/COURSE OVERVIEW

The National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) protects most employees whether the workplace is unionized or non-unionized. Join us for an informative session where we'll review key definitions and concepts related to the NLRA and consider recent board decisions around protected activity, compliance, and coverage. You won't want to miss this session to be sure you and your organization are up to date.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

    • Review what constitutes protected activity under the NLRA supported with recent board decisions
    • Discover employment rules and compliance under the NLRA with recent board decisions
    • Examine coverage of NLRA and review basic definitions for independent contractors and the multi-factor test

    SPEAKER BIO:

    Nancy Wilson has served as the Regional Director(RD) for Region Six (Pittsburgh) since March, 2015. She graduated from Rutgers University with a master’s degree in Industrial Relations in 1987. Shortly after graduation, she began her career as a field examiner in Region 22 (Newark, NJ) where she worked for 17 years. She then transferred to Region 11 (Winston-Salem, NC) where she was promoted to Supervisory Examiner and later to Assistant to the Regional Director(ARD), Region 10 (Atlanta, GA) which encompassed the Winston-Salem office following a consolidation of four offices. She worked in Region 10 as the ARD until her promotion to the RD position in Region Six.

    This session has been submitted for recertification credits with SHRM and HRCI. Chapter mem
    bers in good standing with their dues and non-members that have paid the nominal fee will receive these credits if in attendance for a minimum of 50 minutes of the program.
